eBay upgrades Motors App to Allow Users to Search Vehicle by Taking Photos

The famous online retailer eBay has upgraded its Motors app for the iPhone and iPod Touch to allow users to search for a vehicle simply by taking a photo of it. With the new app, potential car buyer could spots a car without even knowing the make, model or year of the car, eBay can now be instantly connected to sellers of similar vehicles, what users should do is only taking a picture on the iPhone.
EBay also cooperated with cable television channel Speed to broadcast live coverage of auto events and races exclusive to eBay Motors. This coverage is only available in the US, include broadcasts from key racing events in the video section. EBay will conduct exclusive auctions of products including high-end automobiles after events and races as well.
Other new features of Motors app include push notifications and social media. User could elect to have push notifications—short messages that appear as pop-up windows on a smartphone screen—sent to users when they are outbid during an auction and when an auction is closing. In addition, Stock images of vehicles to enable a user to quickly and easily update his or her profile in the personal eBay Motors “Garage.” Feature for users to share via Twitter the parts and vehicles they are buying or selling.
Currently, Motors is one of eBay’s core sales categories as well as homes and gardens, fashion and electronics. eBay sells about 2,800 vehicles worldwide per week through its mobile platform.
